Taste this: Silvery Chardonnay from Etyek

The wine sample–expert judge ratio is probably the best at this competition: 300 wine professionals evaluated 679 wines from 39 countries at the latest Chardonnay du Monde contest in France. Of course it does not mean that one judge tasted 2.25 wines, but they really concenrate on appropriate pace: a maximum of 20 wines are tasted by panel. Of the entered wines, only 52 were awarded gold medal. Hungary won 4 silver medals – well, we must admit, we have some beautiful Chardonnays, but Burgundy and other French regions have much more (France received 30 of the 52 gold medals). Haraszthy Chardonnay 2015, one of the silver winners comes from Etyek–Buda wine region, an cooler region with lime stone, ideal for the variety. „A buttery aroma, enhanced by undertones of coconut and vanilla hints at the rich flavour of Chardonnay. Dried fruit flavours are perfectly balanced with a delicate acidity contributing to a rich and long aftertaste.”
