Csányi Winery is located on the outskirts of the town of Villány, the predecessor of which, Chateau Teleki Winery was established by Zsigmond Teleki in 1881. The owners considered the traditions important, therefore they left the old system of cellars––now a rarity––almost intact, and built a modern winery above it that meets today’s demands. Even in possession of the technology necessary for progressive wine-production we are not forgetting the well-established traditions, the essence of which is to genuinely reflect the values of the grapes in our wines. Csányi Winery plantations are stretching over the best vineyards of Villány Wine Region; the most significant vineyards are Kopár, Csillagvölgy, Jammertal, Agancsos, Ördögárok and Hársos. Our whole area is over 380 hectares. Our annual sales of 2 million bottles carry the message that we are on the right track and our wines are widely favoured.
Chateau Teleki Villanyi Merlot 2012
Dark ruby colour. Elegant nose with raspberry and other red fruits, discreet spices. Its richness and ripeness resembles the wines made of grapes grown in a mediterranean vineyard. On the palate the nice acidity is beautifully balanced with ripe and integrated tannins and mouth filling, intense fruitiness. Full of life.
Chateau Teleki Villanyi Alex Cuvée 2011
Dark ruby colour with a rim of the colour of the pomegranate. In its complex, exciting nose the lush, ripened fruit harmonizes with the toasted, chocolate notes – and all these aromas are embraced by the charming world of sweet spices. On the palate it is full bodied, velvety and developed. Rich of forest fruit flavours and subtle oaky, spicy notes. Complex and enjoyable wine.
Chateau Teleki Villanyi Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
Its intense, spicy nose is full of vitality. The forest fruit character and the touch of smokiness gives a picante note to the wine. Rich, refined flavours.
Chateau Teleki Villanyi Franc 2015
Mediterranean, spicy character in its nose with forest fruits and a hint of smoky, woody notes. The palate is dominated by fruits as well. Well composed structure and long finish.
Elegance Cuvée 2012
Deep dark colour of ruby and pomegranate. Its developed nose has intense forest fruits, oriental spices, and at the same time smoky, oaky, toasty notes coming from the high quality barrels used for ageing, making the wine really complex. On the palate it is also extremely complex, full bodied and intensively flavoured. A structured wine with long finish and very long potential. Overwhelming yet elegant.
