SZEKSZÁRDI ROSÉ CUVÉE 2017
Its colour strikes you like an accommodating summer raspberry cordial and you won’t be disappointed by its fragrance, either. Ripe raspberry, freshly picked from the prickly bush and its juices dripping. There’s a slight trace of caramelised sugar behind the fruitiness which only makes it more endearing and friendly. This returns in the taste as the impulsive acidic character and the creamy feel of alcohol, the fresh fruitiness and suave, sweetish flavour interplay. A slight effervescence has remained in it, it is still fresh after the second sip, the fruitiness is crisp, it tastes good on the tongue and when one takes the next draught.
KÉKFRANKOS ROSÉ 2017
Light pink colour. On the nose fresh, ripe cherry, strawberry, rose hip and some spicy notes. On the palate we can taste the same fruity flavours thanks to the structure of the wine, which makes the flavours more pronounced. Light body, low alcohol and crispy acidity add up a fresh, light, easy going wine.
HAJÓS-BAJAI CABERNET SAUVIGNON ROSÉ 2015
Its colour resembles that of the strawberry cut in half. On the nose we can discover the typical Cabernet Sauvignon fruity aromas, mostly raspberry. Charming rose wine with flavours of strawberry and blackberry on the palate, which is a result of the constellation of an outstanding variety, the properly used reductive technology and the bravery of the winemaker. The noble Cabernet Sauvignon is very rarely used for rose wine in Kunság wine region and in the whole Great Plain of Hungary – but this Koch rosé justifies the endeavour. Slightly more full bodied then the usual roses, still it is an easy drinking, elegant wine which reveals the knowledge of the winemaker.
SOPRONI KÉKFRANKOS ROSÉ 2017
Pale salmon coloured rosé wine with red berry fruits and rose hip in its restrained nose. The palate is reminiscent of summer redcurrant and sun ripened raspberry with a hint of rhubarb tartness. Featherlight, playful wine with well integrated acidity.
Kristinus Piripió 2016
Clear and shiny with touches of orange and red. Expressive aroma full of ripe strawberries with a fine earthy character. Much deeper aroma than we are used to with Hungarian rosés. On the palate the wine is dry, with higher than average acidity, medium alcohol and a good balance. Well chilled, the ripe strawberry promised by the nose comes to the fore, but as it warms in the glass it becomes more “winey”. A little girl growing up into a mature woman. Not really a spritzer wine; it’s not only possible to be sipped on its own, it should be! Finally a rosé that is deeper and more complex than most!
