„The Terroir is around us”
You immediately understand the slogan of Szászi Winery when visiting our renewed estate on Szent György hill.
The birthplace of Szászi wines is surrounded by 20 hectares of organically farmed vineyard. Tasting wine right at the edge of the vineyard is a fascinating, not everyday experience.
The tasting terrace with the background scenery of the untouched grape hill, the stunning view of Lake Balaton and Balaton-upland region is an attractive, unforgettable spot which is more then worth visiting.
The wine shop is open all year, while the ’Viridárium’ is open in the season and offers local gastronomy. Throughout the year it welcomes family, company or friendly gatherings.
Szászi wines have distinctive, charming labels, which were all designed and drew by the wife of the winemaker, Endre Szászi.
Light, golden yellow colour. Intense floral notes typical of Rózsakő on the nose with some hints of citrus fruits. Acidity is slightly more moderate then that of its sister variety, Kéknyelű.
Szent György-Hegyi Olaszrizling 2015
Golden yellow colour. We can discover walnut and tobacco notes resulted from barrel aging along with bitter almond and reseda typical of the grape variety both on the nose and the palate – with all components in perfect balance.
Badacsonyi Kéknyelű 2015
Light straw yellow with greenish tones. Some citrus fruit on the nose. When tasting, it reflects the character of the grape variety obviously. The high acidity and the minerality of the variety gives this wine great aging potential.
Szent György-Hegyi Zeus 2013
Golden yellow colour. Zeus is a crossing between Ezerjó and Bouvier matching the best characteristics of both varieties. An obviously great wine made from fully ripened grape. Both high acidity and high alcohol content have been nicely integrated during the two years in the bottle.
Badacsonyi Pinot Noir 2015
Light red colour with brownish tones typical of the variety. Due to its young age red berry fruits dominate both the nose and the palate with earthy, leafy notes
