Beautiful balance of lively acids and residual sugar. Vibration, power and energy. Engaging wine with great potential.”

  • Vulcanus, Szászi Cellar, 2015, Badacsony – an absolutely „volcanic” new release

Absolutely adore this wine. Szászi Birtok continues to bring surprises. This is made from a grape called Vulcanus. Grown exclusively in the Badacsony wine region (in the Lake Balaton area), it is a cross between Szürkebarát (Pinot Gris) and Budai Zöld. It reminds me of a lightly macerated Rebula/Ribolla Gialla because of its ‘fishy/prawny’ aroma, tannic finish, slightly oily mouthfeel, and orange flavor profile” says blogger of Exotic Wine Travel. The exciting wine of indigenous – and very rare – variety comes from the stunning organic estate of Endre Szászi.
Retail price: 14.3 euros.
