A sparkling event to prepare for New Year’s Eve
If you haven’t decided what sparkling wine to open to celebrate the last day of the year, Borjour event is a great chance to sample a lot of different wines, and then to buy the chosen ones. On 29 December, at 5 pm an informal tasting will take place in beautiful Stefánia Palace, Budapest.
Borjour is a team of young wine enthusiasts who have been organizing exciting wine events for almost a decade. Their annual December sparkling tasting is always a big hit, if you are interested, you must hurry, because only 300 visitors can attend. Apart from the wineries, it is worth taking a look at the two craft breweries who will also sample their products!
What to sample
If you are there, do not miss Pláne areated sparkling wine by Etyeki Kúria, Kszí rosé sparkling from Villány by Vylyan, a sampling from a magnum Prestige Brut by Garamvári Winery and Gold by Frittmann Winery, Gold is a méthode traditionelle sparkling wine made of indigenous Ezerjó grape from Kunság region. Its producer, János Frittmann was a Winemaker of the Year in 2007 and the winery was chosen Winery of the Year in 2015. This is the only bottle fermented sparkling wine made of Ezerjó – at least we have not heard another one – with a nose of apple, pear and toasty notes. Creamy texture, nice bubbles, grapefruit and herbs in the finish.
