Three top rosé wine wines to try at Rosalia
Roségold, Garamvári Winery, South Balaton, 2017
We have recently reported about an annual rosé wine contest of Hungary, the so called Miklós Day Rosé Contest, where the absolute winner was this wine. Here is how they made: „We harvest Pinot Noir and Syrah from the young plantations planted in 2007 in the above single vineyards. After pressing we ferment and mature it in tanks following reductive technology. Wine made in this way is a typical refreshment for summer, where the restrained elegance of Pinot Noir is completed by the spicy and lively acids of Syrah.”
Hajós–Bajai Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé, Koch Winery, 2017
Hungarian leading wine magazine called VinCE has just published its annual rosé panel tasting, around 100 samples were tasted, and this rosé has proved to be the best Cabernet rosé of the tasting. “Good intensity, spiciness on the nose with red berry fruits. Firm structure with vibrant acidity and flavours of red fruits with a touch of refreshing bitterness at the end.”
This rosé has also reached the top of the above mentioned panel tasting, plus it has the coolest design among the best rosé wines. Made of Kékfrankos and Zweigelt, two indigenous varieties of Hungary it is an aromatic, spicy, lovely rosé. “Vibrant, zesty, feather light, balanced wine with a hint of minerality and the taste of strawberry and sun ripened cherry.”
