Lajvér Szekszárdi Kékfrankos 2014
We only have to look at it to know that here we have a full-bodied kékfrankos in our glass: by its aroma we are butterly convinced by its fusion of spiciness and ripe Morello cherries. While tasting it, the effect of the barrel increases; the wood provides extra spices, cloves and vanilla, while at the end coconut emerges in the wine. The structure is pretty good, the acids liven up the flavour made somewhat lazy by the barrel, while ripe fruits enhance the spiciness. Towards the end the taste recedes, your mouth is filled with it, you feel the alcohol but it fits in here; it has content, not only form.
Lajvér Szekszárdi Merlot 2015
Its bouquet is such that we can say “Now that’s a merlot” – a little woodland fruit, a pinch of blossom with just a hint of spices. Everything is in proportion and in the right place. In the sip there is no exaggeration; the sweet spices of the barrel do not overwhelm the fruitiness of plums and blackberries and the acids pump up the wine’s vitality to just the right degree; I can detect the tannin, but as a whole the taste carries me off my feet softly, like velvet. At the very end the last, slightly bitter sour cherry-and-plum sip winks back at us, but only to inspire to take yet another: another sip of velvet doesn’t hurt anyone.
Lajvér Szekszárdi Bikavér 2015
Ripe scents, not over-intensive but multi-faceted. Starting out with dried cranberries we arrive via blackberry pie and tanned leather to cherry liqueur, summoning forth many scents and familiar flavours. In its taste it can be felt that age has brought a few wrinkles to its face, but its full-bodiedness keeps it alive. And the right acids, of course. Leather and mushrooms are at least as strongly present as are fruits, the latter of which register rather in the form of jams, preserves and dried fruits. The structure is still stable, and ageing has enhanced its character.
Lajvér Szekszárdi L6 Cuvée 2015
A wine in which Szekszárd’s lighter visage appears: it opens with the bouquet of refreshing, red fruits which remain with us to the end of the sip. Added to this come the acids, giving it impetus, lively vibrations, the sweet and sour of the cherry and a fresh fruitiness that fills the entire mouth. A relatively petite structure: lightness and fruitiness are the two keywords; its value lies not in its stratification but in an immediate pleasure in its drinkability. The sour cherry of kékfrankos, the spiciness of kadarka come out in airy strides, but it also contains the cheekiness of pinot noir. A red wine for every day of the year.
Lajvér Szekszárdi L12 Cuvée 2015
A determined, hard-as-nails Szekszárd blend in which the dominance of cabernet appears right from the first bouquet. Alongside the berries there is a proportionate spiciness emanating from the barrel, while green herbs add to the complexity. This wine has depth; its taste is vigorous, the berries stream from it, along come the spicy forest fruits and as it closes there is a hint of sweet, eastern spicy playfulness. The tannin is rather more than medium, neither can we describe the alcohol as weak, yet all in all everything falls into place.
Lajvér Signum Cuvée 2013
Your nose first detects freshly-made espresso coffee and grated dark chocolate. Fruitiness is further provided by blackcurrants, blackberries and an abundance of raspberries. The barrel manifests itself in the flavour, with sweet spices, signs of toasting, and a sense of muscular tannin makes it truly robust. It’s a tough southern red, it has power, tautness, alcohol and tannin, fruit and spice, and, of course, lasting taste. A well-built wine, as yet with no Zen harmony to it, though the opportunity, the potential is definitely there. For now it’s for drinking with heavier meals and enjoying at those year-after-year cellar re-tasting sessions.
Vylyan Macska 2018
A thirst- quenchingly fruity, nice, and easygoing wine that “purrs” abd flatters – a wine that feels good to drink every day . The varietal specific red berries on the nose are rounded off by a combination of sour cherry, plum and sloe on the palate. Its tannins are soft and velvety.
Koch Cabernet Franc 2017
After a hint of paprika and other spices, the intense sour cherry aroma is the first impression of the wine. Vivid, pleasant acidity, rounded, refined tannins, surprisingly soft texture – especially knowing the age of the wine. After the first sip it proves to be a well made, decent wine to drink. Medium body, a little masculine bitterness. Then, after another sip and breathing some walnut appears – thus we have to start tasting again… It is a nice, easy drinking wine indeed.
Hajós–Bajai Cabernet Sauvignon Barrique 2012
Dark purple colour. First spices on the nose, after breathing more and more fruit is added with nuts, then some coffee and dark chocolate with the air of vanilla pampers us from the glass. On the palate we experience the richness of red berry fruits from raspberry to blueberry. Complex, yet rather fruity wine expressing the wish of the winemaker: let the fruity flavours of the grape rule, barrel ageing should only back the fruitiness of the wine. In its long finish we come across the spices and fire of that of Szekszárd wine region – embarrassing enough, because the wine is from Hajós–Baja.
Vesztergombi Kadarka 2016
Kadarka has a characteristic, lighter colour and the palate also feels lighter than that of other red wines, but you must not be deluded. This variety has a serious structure, probably the most serious of Hungary’s red varieties even though this feature is well hidden, however if you lay it down for years, you will discover the exceptional ageing potential of Kadarka. When we blend it with other varieties, we always keep the dominant characteristics of Kadarka in mind. We believe that good Kadarka wines need about 10% botrytised berries to achieve the unmistakable aromas of Szekszárd Kadarka.

Lajvér Szekszárdi Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Blueberry, blackcurrant, cool mint and freshly ground pepper appear in its bouquet, a non-intrusive leather quality adds a new element in the taste, just sufficient to make it more exotic. Here the tannin is unambiguous, and added to the experience, the aromatic flavours of cocoa and roasted coffee-beans appear in the palate fairly intensively yet without being raw. This is a robust, vigorous wine with plenty of time to mature further… but we won’t be committing an error if we taste it today, either, for it is nearing its prime.

Vylyan Montenouvo Cuvée 2014
The structure is dominated by the Cabernet Franc, harmoniously complemented by the spiciness of the Syrah and the Zweigelt and the balance of the Merlot. It opens with coolness and modest elegance. The finely adjusted, uniquely spicy and vivid character opens upon discreetly, step by step. Vylyan wines are famous for their complex, fine-tuned and ethereal elegance, as well as a lively and refreshing sip. This pure approach is quite possible the most apparent in the Cabernet Sauvignon. The variety considered to be often “rough” almost “smiles at you” from the Vylyan bottle. Dark fruity notes and the spiciness of cocoa powder feels overwhelming on the palate, but with proportionate and soft tannins and refreshing acidity.
Frittmann Kadarka 2015
Lighter grenade colour. On the nose sour cherry and spices. On the palate it is fresh and light due to its medium acidity. The alcohol content is low, so as the tannins. The aromas are dominated by spices, and in the background we can discover red berry fruits. A vivid and versatile wine which can easily match with typical Hungarian dishes like stew, paprika chicken or the Hungarian ratatouille.
Chateau Teleki Merlot 2015
It has deep ruby colour with garnet rim. The intense nose has aromas of red berries, especially ripe sour cherry that is combined with spicy and smoky, toasted notes from barrel ageing. The taste is fresh and has lively acidity contributing nicely to the fruity character of the wine. It has velvety tannin which gives a backbone structure and ageing potential to this wine. Do not be hurry with this wine when you taste it.

It has deep ruby colour. The developing layered nose has aromas of plum, cherry and also shows some spicy notes. The full-flavoured and perfectly balanced palate has underlying acidity that helps to emphasize the fruit character of the wine. This wine has a velvety texture with finely integrated tannin. The toasted and sweet spicy notes are in harmony with the fruitforward taste and increase the complexity of the wine. For celebrating.

Bock Cabernet Franc 2015
A global variety that has found a home for itself in the Villány wine region. While in other parts of the world the Sauvignon is the primary Cabernet, in Villány the Cabernet Franc has come to the fore. Following fermentation it is matured in large oak barrels for 12 months. It is a deep red, full-bodied wine of dark intensity. It is remarkably complex in bouquet and taste, in which its fruitiness creates a harmonious unity with the aromas originating from the barrel.
Bock Ermitage 2013
The winery’s most popular wine. Made from grape varieties from the most beautiful vineyards in the Villány wine region, a cuvee of Merlot, Pinot Noir, Portugieser, Kékfrankos and Syrah built upon a base of Cabernet. It is matured in large oak barrels (70%) and used barrique barrels (30%) for 12 months. A wine characterized by its medium dark intensity and colour verging on the garnet-red paired with lightly spiced, red-fleshed fruits. The bitterness of the sour cherry with a light chocolate aftertaste can be sensed in its flavour.
Monopole Rhapsody 2015
The vineyard Nyilasmár has thin, stony and tuff topsoil with strong south slope, these gives fiery, body and the vineyard Nagyfai has brown forest soil,which added rich and pure flavor to this wine. This highly concentrated wine is a blend of Kékfrankos, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Nice garnet red color, with aromas of cranberries, ripe cherries and spicy oak. Similar flavors follow on the palate with a medium body and a medium long finish and soft tannins.
Villányi Cabernet Sauvignon Classicus 2012
Vin Art Winery of Csaba Koch created this wine with the intention of an artist. The wine is in the Classicus classification of Villány. The grape comes from Csaba Koch’s own vineyard, the harvest was carried on with the highest care and attention, and after a selection of the berries the wine was fermented in the traditional way in wooden vat, then aged in oak barrel.
Tóth Ferenc Ergi Kadarka 2017
Medium intense ruby colour, sour cherry in the nose followed by the sweetish, cake aromas of barrel aging. Fruit syrup and jam taste on the palate. In the finish a bit of tartness complemented by sweet spices. Compared to previous Kadarka wines of the winery, this one is easier to understand however easy to fall in love with it. (CsokiLaBor)
Etyeki Kúria Merlot 2016
Notes of kirsch, clove, cinnamon and dark chocolate with the slight sweetness of dried cranberries. Smooth on the palate, with kirsch, black pepper, with refreshing sour cherry in the finish. Complemented by notes of vanilla, roasted walnut thanks to the aging in barrel.
This blend has been made of Cabernet Franc and Merlot since the first vintage, though at the beginning the proportion was inverse. We decided to change the ratio of the varieties in 1997, and it was the year when we named the blend Turul. The heavier, sometimes harsh style of Cabernet Franc is perfectly balanced by the softness and gentleness of Merlot.

Deep colour, full bodied, matured wine rich in refined tannins. Thanks to the two varieties fruity and spicy notes meet, and the blend is made complex with some discrete barrel ageing and 10 months of bottle ageing. Refined, integrated tannins with the deep, warm character of Cabernet Franc and the velvety and chocolate character of Merlot.

On the nose it has a ‘cool’ character, but at the same time it has an attractive frutiy-spicy note. Loads of sour cherries, a pleasure to take a sniff of them. On the palate soft, velvety tannins, moderate acidity. Energic and serious, but also charming and easy to drink.
Eszterbauer Tivald Szekszárdi Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Deep, dark colour. Medium intensity on the nose, but complex, full of black berry, blueberry, bitter chocolate and bonbon filled with cognac infused sour cherry. On the palate firm, but still pleasant tannins, pepper and Christmas spices. The alcohol is high, but the structure is still balanced, the wine is matured, complex, characteristic with beautiful barrel notes. Good lenght with a wide range of aromas.
Cabernet Sauvignon Barrique 2013
Carmine hue, the structure refers to a body bigger than medium. Fine toast aromas in its nose, and ripe fruits, earthy marks and a hint of pepper appear. Silky, long aroma when tasting. Mainly sour cherry and plum dominate beside the barrel spices with fine acids.
Monopole Soul Syrah 2015
Soul. This is name of our 100% syrah wine which is an exclusively sourced from the ripe fruit of the grapes from KNW’s Nagyfai and Nyilasmar Monopole Terroirs. The Nyilasmár vineyard has thin, stony, and tuff based soil, facing south, which gives the wine spice and body, while the Nagyfai vineyard contains rocky brown forest soil, which adds rich and complex flavors. Music, travel and arrival of the soul. This is our Monopole Soul Syrah.
Tóth Ferenc Egri Bikavér Superior 2015
A Superior category Bikavér, a blend of the selection of the best base wines of the winery. Kékfrankos base, the three Bordeaux variety, Pinot Noir and Kadarka got the place in this blend. Deep coloured extremely rich, multi layered Bikavér style. Nice, well riped fruit resulted intense violet and plum aromas on the nose combined with spicy sour and sweet cherry notes. Serious structured rounded wine with long finish and great potential.

Dark bright purple. Black fruits in the nose with a hint of vanilla and pepper. On the palate black berries and cassis plus a hint of dark chocolate. Well-integrated acidity and great structure with finely grained tannins. Full bodied yet elegant and fruity wine with a very long aftertaste. Great potential for further development.

Deep dark ruby color. In the nose intense aromas of oriental spices, dark chocolate, ripe black berries, and cassis. Velvety structure with fine acidity, very well balanced with integrated tannins, powerful yet elegant wine. Black berries again plus chocolate and spices on the palate. Very long lasting.

Kristinus Pinot Noir 2015
Clear and day bright ruby colour with brick coloured reflexes. The viscosity and tearing is high intensity. After some sniffs the wine is changing a lot. Matured and cooked strawberry with jammy character of red fruits and also some forest minerality is coming. Cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves are also strong elements of the wine. Complex nose with warm spices and moderated barrel notes. Pretty much the same on the palate after some air contact in a bigger glass. No regret after the name. A perfect gastro-wine has been born. If there is no chance to decant, let’s try it from a Riedel 001 glass! Great Pinot Noir experience with a huge ageing potential.

Toasty aromas and vanilla. Sweet on the nose cooled with sone eucalypt, refreshed by black and red berry fruits. On the palate the fruits are still slightly in the background, but show full ripeness, especially the dried blackberry, blueberry and sour cherry. Its tannins are not exaggerated, they are refined, ripe and let the flavours develop. The acidity is pleasant, eases the rather heavy character of the wine given by the vintage. Deep, dark colour with rich flavours and long length. A wine with great ageing potential.

Ripened fruits, anise, cinnamon, tobacco and toasted notes on the nose. On the palate it is full bodied and velvety with soft tannins. The flavour profile is dominated by blackberry and sour cherry accompanied by sweetish coffee tones resulted from the small new barrels. An extremely layered wine with great ageing potential.
Koch Villányi Csanád Cuvée 2012
It has the colour of pomegranate. Regarding the nose the first impression is that of punch and vanilla waking up a series of associations of the taster. Besides them we can smell several fruits like blueberry and blackberry. Then behind them we can discover a kind of ‘propolis’ note resulting from bottle aging. On the palate vanilla is still dominant accompanied by sweet, dark berry fruits and spices. Significant body, relatively high alcohol, integrated tannins, soft acidy form the wonderful composition of this wine.
Elegance Cuvée 2012
Deep dark colour of ruby and pomegranate. Its developed nose has intense forest fruits, oriental spices, and at the same time smoky, oaky, toasty notes coming from the high quality barrels used for ageing, making the wine really complex. On the palate it is also extremely complex, full bodied and intensively flavoured. A structured wine with long finish and very long potential. Overwhelming yet elegant.
Gere Kopar 2012
Outstanding layered, full fruitiness. Deep, almost blackish colour with youthful tones. Sour cherry, raspberry, blackberry and minerality on the nose with elegantly discreet toasty notes. On the palate it is extremely rich and complex, the fruits are accompanied by chocolate and cinnamon, plus some peppery notes can be discovered. In spite of its young age it shows a nice balance and is ready to drink, but it has a long ageing potential.
Bock Syrah 2016
A special limited variety from the Bocor vineyard. Part of the selection wine family, following fermentation it is matured in new oak barrels for 18 months. It is characterized by a garnet-red colour tending to black, while in its aroma can be sensed sweet spices, overripe fruit and mint, which are accompanied by chocolate and vanilla achieved by the maturation in new barrels., while in flavour chocolate and vanilla appear alongside overripe fruit.
Bock Cuvée 2014
The cellar’s flagship wine, a cuvee of Bordeaux wines: Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Cabernet Franc (30%) and Merlot (10%). It is matured first for 24 months in new, small oak barrels after which it develops further for at least another year in bottles. Characterized by shades of deep dark red tending to crimson. It is a velvety, full-bodied wine: in its bouquet can be sensed ripe cherries and tobacco, while in flavour chocolate and vanilla appear alongside overripe fruit.
Bock Royal Cuvée 2013
In this wine the main varieties of two French wine regions from Bordeaux (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc) and from Burgundy (Pinot Noir) were brought together in a cuvée. This is matured for 24 months in new and used barrique barrels. Characterized by a crimson colour tending toward garnet of dark intensity; in its bouquet and taste one can sense sweet spices and overripe fruit and the aromas of chocolate and vanilla.
Villányi Franc – Várerdő Cru 2011
An outstanding wine, the flagship of the winery. The grape for the wine comes from a cooler vineyard of Villány called Várerdő (’Castle forest’). After careful selection and fermentation the wine was placed in oak barrels for 18 months. Serious body and harmony characterizes the wine with some playful spices from oak ageing.
Gere Solus 2015
In its nose first the minerality of Kopar vineyard appears, then very intense fruits appear. A real fruit bomb, ripe plum and sour cherry, coffee, cocoa with a hint of thyme. The barrel marks nicely blend into the structure of the wine. Mild acids and soft tannins accompany the sip. Characterized by richness and long lasting aftertaste.
Our flagship wine the 2011 blend is made up of our Grand Cru Nagy Eged Vineyard. It shows aromas of allspice and tobacco that are complimented by concentrated flavors of plum liqueur, smoky raspberry and bramble. These flavors flow into a elegant, long smooth balanced finish.
Sauska Cabernet Franc 2012
Deep purple, almost black. Toasted wood, blueberry, plum and blackberry in the nose along with prune, cinnamon, truffle cream and cocoa. Sweet spices and chocolate characterize the mouthfeel and lead to the long and layered finish. Clean and well-structured with well-integrated tannins.
Attila Cuvée 2009
A chance given by the vintage, this wine is a limited selection of the most beautiful new barrique barrels meant for the wines of Kopar Cuvée, Cabernet Franc Selection and Solus Merlot. Complex nose and its intensity is gradually increasing. Eucalyptus, minerality, black chocolate and after some breathing rich fruits, mainly black and red berries. Rich fruitiness on the palate as well, it fills every corner of the mouth. Youthful tannins and nice acidity support the flavours resulting nice balance and rich, full palate. Minerality and toasty notes lead through the long lasting flavour profile of this wine. Komplex, great wine and with some bottle ageing it will give even more pleasure.
Grand Bleu 2011
This 100% Kékfrankos wine comes from the top (500m) of our Grand Cru Nagy Eged vineyard. The dense color is followed with concentrated aromas of nutmeg, allspice, black cherry and tobacco. These aromas are continued on the palate by flavors of plum, black cherry and plain chocolate, all tied together with balanced acids and silky tannins. Our Grand Bleu rewards us with a long and very pleasant finish. This wine will age beautifully in the bottle for many years.
Patricius Tokaji Furmint Selection Dry 2015
Elegant harmony of fruitiness and fine oak aromas. On palate it has a unique balance with some spicy nose. The creamy body is supported by subtle minerality and structured, smooth acidity framed with hearty alcohol and discrete, oak-derived tannin. A rich white wine with long, refreshing aftertaste characterized by citrus aromas.
