Our beloved father raised us along these principles, and he established the Zsirai Winery based on them. These are the values we follow when fulfilling his dream and his legacy.
Motivated by the love of Tokaj and its wines, in 2002 the Béres family decided to create a 45 hectare estate in the heart of the Tokaj Wine Region. The plantations are based on the local white grape varieties, most importantly furmint and hárslevelű.
The Patricius Winery was established by the Kékessy family’s oenological vocation for the future, which vocation is cherishing from the past. The owners are Dezső Kékessy and his daughter Katinka Kékessy.
JV is a winery as described above: fitting in the image of the street was equally important during the designing procedure together with serving modern technology and meeting the challenges of our time. The aim of the architecture was to create a house without age: a house that might as well have stood there for 100 years, but at the same time it has a contemporary style, where the needs of today’s technology are not hidden behind an archaic surface.
Sauska is a family-owned and operated winery with vineyards in both Tokaj (NE Hungary) and Villany (SW Hungary). We grow indigenous and international grape varieties and use only the power of gravity and ambient yeasts to craft our wines. They run the gamut from sparkling to still; dry to sweet; white, red and rose.
Tokaj wine region, situated in the North-East of Hungary is famous for its sweet wines made of shrivelled berries due to the influence of noble rot, as known as Botrytis cinerea. Tokaj has a long history of producing dessert wines with traditional method.
The company was founded by the Hungarian State in 1948 and has been in her ownership ever since. The winery known as Tokaj Kereskedőház after 1993 has changed it’s name to Grand Tokaj in 2016 to emphasise the company’s all-time key role in the Tokaj Wine Region and to announce her ambitious plan to became a key player in markets not only on a national, but on a global level as well.
The estate was founded in 2003 by Barta family with the objective to revive Öreg Király vineyard (’Old King’ vineyard) of great prestige, abandoned since the 1950s. When driving from Szerencs to Mád, our attention is caugth by one of the most impressive vineyards of Király mountain (’King mountain’) with its steepest, terraced plots: this is Öreg Király, a 10 hectare vineyard with south–south-west exposure.
